People interest me.
My interest in human subjects is due, in part, to my training in the field of psychology, but mostly because everyone has a unique and amazing story to tell. Sometimes it's in the eyes, sometimes it's in the wrinkles on their skin, but always in their heart and in every portrait I create, I attempt to bring out their little secrets.
I was born in Timisoara, Romania, but I've lived in Canada since 1996. Perhaps my ambitions are linked to my nationality; I have been exposed to and intrigued by many differences in culture.
My aim is to create "real" images; be it human subjects, or abstract entities; the picture must tell a story. I feel an image should provoke a feeling; it should inspire or trigger something in a private place within the observer. A photograph should confront out sense of normalcy and disintegrate our preconceived notions. Familiar things should become unfamiliar.
