Dawn Blair is proof that anyone can follow their heart and live their dreams. She nearly flunked 5th grade art because she couldn't cut, paste, color, draw, etc. In high school, she avoided the art room like it was the plague. All the while, Dawn wished she could draw and paint because she loved reading comics and looking at pictures. Dawn was a visual person and she knew it but couldn't express herself with visual art -- after all, she'd had plenty of people and her own inner voice tell her she was "no good at it."
Many years later Dawn decided to take a drawing class. Within the first lesson she learned to "see" as an artist and it changed her world. Bravery kicked in and Dawn started painting, taking photos, and drawing graphic novels. She's taken additional painting classes, read extensively about art, and loves learning all she can from other artists. During this time, she's been juried into several art shows to sell her work, won awards for painting and photography, been part of the We Art Women exhibition, and sold numerous paintings both small and large throughout the U.S. as well as to collectors in Spain, Australia, and Canada. Dawn teaches acrylic painting as an instructor at Michael's Arts and Crafts store in Twin Falls, Idaho.
